RESIDENTIAL REVERSE OSMOSIS

Reverse osmosis is a filtering process in which water is purified through rejection by a membrane that allows smaller particles to pass through while keeping other larger particles out, thus reducing the parts per million of Total Dissolved Solids in the water as well as removing heavy metals, chemicals, bacteria and viruses present in both potable city water supplies and well water.

We not only test our units for leaks, we also test for function. Every PUROMAX model is filled with air at 130 psi. and is tested for leaks, auto shut off function, check valve function, and drain control function. Booster pumps are designed for low water pressure, cold water, and high TDS applications. By boosting the pressure to the membrane it is able to overcome the issues usually associated with under sink R/O’s and wells allowing you to achieve maximum performance from your system. In instances where high TDS effects water pressure, the higher the TDS the more pressure is needed to achieve pure water. The higher pressure enables water with a higher TDS to go through the membrane to overcome these issues. Lastly the colder the water gets the denser it becomes. This causes membranes to lose production. By adding pressure the membrane will produce more water overcoming this loss.
